The great British cuppa
The healthy brew
What’s in the bag?
Quality and blend is what makes a cuppa taste nice, and if you want something doing right, you get the experts in.
We got expert tea blenders, Spicers (who have over 100 years’ experience) to create our special blend.
Good stuff
Not only does tea taste lovely and refreshing, it’s good for us too. There aren’t many things you can say that about - except maybe pineapples but they’re not always easy to come by. And would no way fit into a mug.
- Tea has almost NO carbs or fat, and – unlike fizzy drinks and booze – can actually help us de-stress.
- A cup of tea with semi-skimmed milk has only 13 calories – as well as zinc, fluoride, folic acid, manganese and plenty of other vitamins too.
- Four cups a day is recommended for maximum, lasting refreshment – that’s 21% of your daily calcium intake.
- Tea can relieve the symptoms of asthma, and help prevent strokes, cancer and heart disease.
- The average cuppa contains under half the caffeine levels of coffee. Plus, the caffeine in tea has a more gradual effect, whereas coffee can sometimes make you feel a bit wired.
- Finally, tea breaks, i.e. sitting around and chatting, are good for us. Not unlike having a jar in the pub with your mates. Except with tea, there’s no chance of telling your mates you love them in between verses of ‘Amarillo’.
